More Than Sadness

Depression can feel like a heavy fog—numbing your emotions, draining your motivation, and making even simple tasks feel like climbing a mountain. It’s often not just about feeling sad, but about feeling stuck.

Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD).

I offer a specific, evidence-based model called PCE-CfD. Person-centred experiential counselling is all about trusting your innate capacity for growth and creating a safe, deeply respectful space where you can explore who you truly are without fear of judgment. Rather than treating you as a problem to be solved or a diagnosis to be managed, this approach views you as the ultimate expert on your own life. Unlike general chat, this approach targets the underlying emotional processes that keep depression in place. We work to identify suppressed feelings, understand critical inner voices, and gently release the blocks that prevent you from engaging with life.

A Pathway Through the Fog

We move gently, respecting your pace, as we explore:

  • Emotional Awareness: Learning to identify and express feelings that have been buried or avoided.
  • The Inner Critic: Challenging the harsh, self-critical thoughts that fuel low self-worth.
  • Unmet Needs: Discovering what you truly need from your relationships and your life—and how to ask for it.
  • Re-engagement: Finding small, meaningful ways to participate in the world again, not as a tick-box exercise, but as a genuine connection.
